Based on fresh fish, the cuisine of Gatteo proposes the best of traditional sea food, matched with the typical bread-like ‘piadina’ of Romagna and local wines like Sangiovese, Trebbiano, Albana and Pagadebit. You cannot go back home without tasting the delicious Adriatic Sea fish recipes – sardines, mackerels, anchovies – or the famous hand-made pasta.
And do not forget the ‘Cantarela’, an ancient dessert of Romagna to which Gatteo Mare dedicates every year in late summer a festival.
